The KORSCH high-performance press XT 600 HD is characterized by its innovative machine design. Multifunctional Corner Columns, innovative dust extraction system, a newly designed machine base, a mechanical seperated head piece and the KORSCH compression columns make the XT 600 HD a robust yet elegant tablet press.
Multi-Function Corner Columns
The installation of the dust extraction pipes and electrical cables within the four multi-function corner columns ensures the clean appearance of the XT 600 HD. The dust extraction hoses are pluggable and thus optimally accessible for disassembly and cleaning from the outside. The covers of the multi-function corner columns are fastened in a user-friendly way with clip-on closures and allow access without special tools.
High Efficient Dust Extraction
The efficient removal of dust in the press interior is critical for a high-speed, continuous operation. The dust extraction of the XT 600 HD has been further optimized with the 100 years of experience of KORSCH's design engineers for exactly this application. It’s internal air flow with perfected cross-sections ensures maximum extraction performance. All points critical to the development of dust (pre-form, die table, cams, tablet ejection, etc.) are addressed with targeted dust extraction manifolds.
Easy to Maintain Machine Base
The newly designed machine base accommodates all important system components such as drives, central lubrication and electrical distribution. These are easily accessible for maintenance thanks to the four generously dimensioned access panels. The make-up air is supplied via filter elements from the compression room. When installing in a particularly dusty environment, an external make-up air supply can be used. In all areas, the accessibility of individual components was the focus of development.
Compression Dwell Bar
The compression dwell bar is a core design element of the KORSCH XT 600 HD double-rotary press. The spring-loaded pressure rail, which is installed between the pre and the main compression rollers, prevents the "relaxing" of the tablet between the pressing steps. Especially with pressure-sensitive materials and at high output rates, the dwell bar ensures a more constant pressure force curve and enhanced tablet hardness.
The standard variable speed two-chamber feed frame with an extra-long fillig length guarantees extremely precise filling and thus weight accuracy at every production speed. The internal volume of the feeders has been adapted for high throughput of large tablet formats
Minimal Noise and Vibration
The carrier plate of the KORSCH XT 600 HD is mounted in the machine base on axially and radially acting vibration dampers. Thanks to this patented concept, no mechanical vibrations are transmitted to the machine base, multi-function column, or headpiece. This makes the XT 600 HD remarkably quiet.
Intuitive Controls with Smart-Touch HMI
The completely new control system interface provides an intuitive operating environment, with a Smart-Touch HMI which permits move, zoom, and scroll gestures. At the heart of the control system is a Siemens SIMOTION controller, which merges PLC and motion controls in a single, integrated system. The user-friendly graphics, and comprehensive on-board help offers a simplistic yet comprehensive view of the process. Furthermore, Korsch offers open interfaces that enable the tablet press to be integrated into the overall process.
Compression Force Control
KORSCH Compression Force Control provides precise tablet weight regulation by monitoring the individual compression force of each individual punch station and periodically adjusting the dosing cam to maintain the desired press force setpoint. The relationship between press force and tablet weight is determined during set-up, and the press force control limits will stop the machine immediately in the event that any limit is violated. A moving average calculation provides a responsive and precise system that will maintain the press force to a specific press force target value.
On-board Help Capability
The XT 600 HD control system includes a comprehensive on-board help system, using a vast array of multi-media files to present procedures, drawings, schematics, manuals, pictures and videos, to assist the user in all phases of the machine operation and maintenance, including a full spare parts list and associated assembly drawings to easily and confidently identify required spare parts.
