The XM 12 tablet press is a small-scale single-layer and bi-layer press which is ideal for product development, clinical production, and mid-range production. The XM 12 tablet press offers an exchangeable turret design to permit the production of any tablet size. The conversion between single-layer and bi-layer operation can be completed very easily. The XM 12 control system offers a unique first layer sampling capability, and the option for integrated press force control, single-tablet rejection, and integrated data acquisition and analysis.
The machine offers a 5 kN first layer tamping force, a 40 kN precompression force and a 80 kN main compression force. The retracting second layer feeder permits an automated first layer sampling with hardening option. An optional single-layer conversion kit is available.
With turrets sized for both product development and clinical production, the XM 12 offers unprecedented flexibility in a bi-layer press. The single-layer conversion kit permits single and bi-layer production on any turret size.
Integrated design permits full portability for use in an R&D or production setting. The control system offers a product development and clinical production capability.
The machine can be instrumented as follows: upper/lower tamping force, upper/lower pre and main compression force and ejection force.
Together with the integrated PharmaResearch®, a Windows based data acquisition system the XM 12 permits storage, analysis, and export of compression and ejection force data.
Zero-clearance design with integrated dust extraction insures excellent yields and no cross contamination. Low volume feeder option for product development permits full compression profiles with minimal material quantities.
The HMI offers an extremely user-friendly interface which is fully compliant with 21 CFR Part 11. Press force control and single-tablet rejection system available for clinical and mid-range production applications.
The unique and patented design of the carrier plate, with pneumatic dampers, fully isolates vibration from the head piece and machine base. The result is an extreme reduction in operating noise level, even with high compression forces and high press speeds (< 75 dB(A)).
