Despite this we continuously strive to further improve this system and realise new technologies and know-how to provide the best possible benefit to our customers.
Against this background, KORSCH has developed a completely new generation of PharmaControl® systems that have the following features:
The models
The PharmaControl® 2iplus is integrated into the switch cabinet of the tableting machine and is only available for the KORSCH XL-100 series. It is possible to retrofit older machines of the XL series but not other machine types (e.g. PharmaPress).
The PharmaControl® 3iplus (standard equipment in the KORSCH machines) is also in integrated into the switch cabinet of the tableting machine and is available for the whole KORSCH XL series. Retrofitting of older machines of the XL series and other machine types (e.g. PharmaPress) is possible. We will be happy to draw up an estimate for you after discussing the technical details.

- Development, production, service and product care from one source
- Higher performance and a more precise control behaviour compared to other systems thanks to the patented procedure comprising the formation of a sliding mean value in conjunction with fuzzy control.
- Synchronous speed sorting of individual tablets that reliably rejects every nonconforming table with an automatic reaction time function.
- For XL 100: up-to-date touch terminal from Siemens, otherwise 15" TFT colour LCD with touch operation. This allows very simple customer-oriented operation and fast visual recording of system statuses.
- High level of investment protection for the automation field because only components from the market leaders Siemens or Allen-Bradley are used for the respective markets. Compared to proprietary or less common control systems, this allows an increased level of malfunction security and reliability.
- Networking within the machine thanks to standardised field bus systems e.g. Profibus, DataHighway Plus, DeviceNet, ASi Safety, Ethernet. KORSCH has already realised numerous projects for connecting our tableting machines to overriding control systems using these field bus systems.
In both systems
- The user interface is designed simply and clearly thanks to self-explanatory and practice-oriented menus.
- The user interface is integrated into the machine operating system i.e. the machine and control unit are operated via a touch terminal that is also capable of displaying graphics
- The control properties and individual sorting are identical (same software core).
Documentation
- In the case of the option with PharmaControll 2iplus, the printer, which can be directly connected to the panel, can generate a large number of print-outs and reports.
- In the case of the option with PharmaControll 3iplus, delivery also includes a report on all the production data, an extensive recipe management function, user administration in accordance with 21 CFR Part 11 and a detailed event-log.
- The integrated PharmaControll systems provide extensive documentation that is oriented on the GAMP requirements and also includes e.g. a GMP risk analysis. The supplied documents are structured so that document referencing is also generated.
- Extensive documentation for the software development in accordance with GAMP (Life-Cycle model).
- Extensive qualification and validation documents that can be modified to the requirements of our customers.
