Pharmaceutical rotary presses

The XM 12 Bi-Layer Tablet Press offers a new standard in GMP with extreme accessibility to the compression zone and a combination of quick disconnects and smooth surfaces that permit fast cleaning and changeover. The bi-layer execution, single-layer conversion kit, and exchangeable turret offer unprecedented flexibility. The machine features a 5 kN tamping station, 40 kN precompression station, 80 kN main compression station, and a unique structural design that eliminates vibration to the head piece and base frame. The result is an extreme reduction in the operating noise level. The XM 12 Bi-Layer Tablet Press features a retractable second layer feeder that permits automated first layer sampling at production speeds. The first layer sampling capability also offers a hardening feature, in which the main compression station will automatically compress the first layer tablet for in-process measurement. The two feeders are zero clearance and are configured with an integrated dust extraction manifold, which cleans the die table and completely eliminates any potential for cross-contamination.

Data Acquisition
Integrated PharmaResearch offers data collection and analysis of compression force data and automatically calculates force peaks, area under the compression curve, rate of force application, and rate of force decay. Permits expedited compression profiles with minimal material quantities.
 
 
Exchangeable Turret
With turrets sized for both product development and clinical production, the XM 12 offers unprecedented flexibility in a bi-layer press. The single-layer conversion kit permits single and bi-layer production on any turret size.
Bi-Layer Capability
The machine offers a 5 kN first layer tamping force, a 40 kN precompression force and a 80 kN main compression force. The retracting second layer feeder permits an automated first layer sampling with hardening option. An optional single-layer conversion kit is available.
 
 
Integrated Control Cabinet
Integrated design permits full portability for use in an R&D or production setting. The control system offers a product development and clinical production capability.
Touch Screen Control
The HMI offers an extremely user-friendly interface which is fully compliant with 21 CFR Part 11. Press force control and single-tablet rejection system available for clinical and mid-range production applications.
 
 
Carrier Plate
Unique and innovate technology available in all KORSCH machines which isolates the compression zone from the machine frame, resulting in a dramatic decrease in vibration and noise level at all operating speeds.
Innovative Feeder Design
Zero-clearance design with integrated dust extraction insures excellent yields and no cross contamination. Low volume feeder option for product development permits full compression profiles with minimal material quantities
 
 
WIP and High Containment
Available in a full wash-in-place and high containment execution – ideal for potent compounds. Complete negative pressure control, interlocked glove ports, and containment valve interface offers a full turnkey solution.
