SlipFit® Special machines - Alkali Battery Production

The presses:
For over 30 years, KORSCH has supplied the technical high-performance presses of the TRP series to renowned battery manufacturers in Germany and also abroad. These TRP presses are used in three-layer mode to produce cathode rings for alkali batteries.

The TRP 747 is primarily used for the smaller cathode rings of the type LR 03 / AAA and LR 6 / AA; the production output is max. 2400 rings/min.

KORSCH supplies the TRP 931 for the production of larger cathode rings of the type LR 14 / C and LR 20 / D. This HD ( heavy duty ) double rotary press is designed for forces of pressure of over 200 kN. The production output is max. 1000 rings/min.
The interlinking
In the past, KORSCH only supplied the ring presses that were then integrated into the customer’s own assembly lines. Today, KORSCH is now able to not only supply the presses but also the whole assembly line for fully automatic pre-assembly of up to 4 rings in each cup.

The SlipFit line has a compact design and is therefore very space-saving. We only use e.g. one turret with 23 tool stations to insert the 4 rings into the cup. However the decisive procedural step takes place in the recompaction module. Here, the 4 rings in the cup are repressing in an additional pressing stage. This step guarantees a new dimension with regard to product quality and productivity.

Of course, each work step is monitored so that only cups with perfect rings leave the KORSCH SlipFit line and are transferred to the customer’s own follow-on lines.
